For a long while gold as a decorative choice was something admired quietly, seen as far too ostentatious for the mass market to apply in their own home due, in part, to gold having always been associated with the aristocracy. 1.You will need 1 can of shiny gold spray paint 

2.A selection of you favourite small plastic animals (try ebay for a small set costing less than £5)

3.Glue your chosen creature to the lid (preferable with a glue gun for ease)

4.Once dry, spray 1-2 thin coats of spray paint over the lid and animal
