Job Type: Full-time / Part-time
Salary: £10.42-£10.80 per hour
Hours: Flexible - 12 Hour Shifts - (WEEKENDS MANDATORY)

Who are we?
Melody Maison is a vibrant, and fast-growing on-line retailer of French and vintage style furniture and home accessories, and we are looking to take on a new Sales assistant into our superstar team to help take us to the next level. The Melody Maison office has a positive, engaging and generous working environment, with a close-knit team, all working together to help reach business targets and goals. Our company is medium in size, and growing every day, but still holds true to a very family-like atmosphere.
What are we looking for?
Position Summary:
  • Driving from the yard to each and every delivery.
  • Care of the vehicle they are in for that shift, including van checks each morning and reporting any van issues to Logistics or General Manager immediately.
  • Keeping the van presentable.
  • Carrying an item from the van to the customers property IF it is a 2 man weight/size. Any 1 man item should be carried by the second man as the driver goes and knocks on the door and speaks to the customer.
  • Ensuring the load is secure in the van, where they can ask the second man to have a look over to ensure all products are secure.
  • Safety of the vehicle during operating hours and ensuring the vehicle is locked when not present, or when staying at a hotel.
We operate from a large warehouse with offices and showroom in Harworth (near Bawtry), Doncaster. Close to the Blyth A1 junction and with the bus route close by.
Qualifications & Skills
Ideal Candidate:
  • Clean UK driving licence.
  • Experience in driving transit / long wheel base sizes vehicles (all vans below 3.5ton)
  • Happy with overnight stays
  • Smart appearance & good customer service
  • Understanding of the highway code
  • Working a shift pattern rota, Monday - Sunday (based around 40 hour weeks)
  • Able to lift furniture items up to 30kg (second man provided on two man lift items)
Desired Skills:
  • You need to be confident and have the ability to work independently without the need for close supervision. You must be organised and have good attention to detail.
  • Communication skills are vital in this role; successful applicants will be well spoken, with a clear and professional telephone manner and an ability to construct well written correspondence.
  • You must have good time management skills; you must be a punctual person.
  • A professional and smart corporate appearance is essential
  • Have a confident phone and face to face manner
Experience:
  • Driver vans: 1 year (required)
  • Driving: 1 year (required)
  • Driving License (required)
